One man’s point of view
6. April 2006 by Othy.
Can you imagine that UNILAG, regarded as the centre of excellence in learning and character, has a problem with something as mundane as its academic calendar? Presently, whereas some of the students in 300 level and above are on holidays, 100 and 200 level students are still in session, with some of them presently having exams. Consequently, these students currently in session will not be able to enjoy a holiday, as all levels are expected to resume immediately after Easter. With all work and no play, the academic performance of the 100 and 200 level students will certainly decline. Methinks that a disorganized academic calendar runs counter to a culture of excellence.
